When the iPhone first came out, we saw a market that was ready to explode so we teamed up with FreeShipping.org, an affiliate marketing company from Colorado, and developed the first mobile in-store mobile coupon application. Coupon Sherpa was our first app and we learned a lot by making it. It allows users to search for available coupons and use them at store check outs when they are making a purchases. Some of the coupons can even be scanned directly off the iPhone. It was a huge success and has had hundreds of thousands of downloads.
Since our first app we have created several other iPhone applications and our experience continues to increase as we learn more tricks of the trade. One such application was for The Association of Independed Commercial Producers, AiCP for short. Each year AICP was spending almost $50K printing a members directory to send to all their members. As David Carson put it, "the end of print is near", we are just confirming that statement. The application we built for them runs natively on the iPhone and the iPad and replicates everything that was in that $50K printed piece and the great thing about it is they can update it at any time, since all of the content is loaded from their web server. We've also built iPad apps for Charmin and Real Simple magazine, among others.
We have also developed mobile websites using JQuery Mobile. It is the mobile version of JQuery that runs equally the same on all mobile devices. If someone is going to build a mobile version of their website, they need to use JQuery Mobile. It has prebuilt interface elements that are found natively on these mobile devices which users are familiar with and is a great tool for building for smaller devices.« Back to Main
