Website Development

Our understanding of the most popular website technologies and languages have helped us to create award winning solutions for many highly recognized brands.

HTML/CSS

Every website has HTML somewhere in it and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is what we use to make them look so good. Every HTML website we build uses CSS so we have a lot of experience figuring out the ins and outs of each browser. It is important to us to keep our clients happy and a client is happy when their website works the same in every browser, so we spend the time to make it just right for them.

Javascript/JQuery

Kinoli loves JQuery. JQuery is a javascript framework that simplifies the art of accessing different elements within the HTML of a web page and makes it easy to manipulate those elements, or at least easier than the basic javascript available. It is still javasript but it just simplifies things. We are so convinced of its amazingness that we wouldn't build an HTML website without it. If you're getting a website from Kinoli, you'll be getting JQuery somewhere in there.

Flash/ActionScript

Adobe Flash is an amazing tool for high animation graphics and interactive experiences. It definitely has its place, but it should be used for specialty purposes only. Though we have a lot of experience and love for Flash and have created several award winning Flash pieces, we don't recommend most of our clients use it for their main website and definitely not for their main navigation. We still enjoy developing in ActionScript and building Flash website elements, but we find ourselves constantly explaining to clients who think they need a flash website, that it isn't really what they need. Flash really can do some amazing things with its animation, but the two main drawbacks to Flash oftentimes are deal breakers. Flash lacks any sort of SEO ability and it can't be seen on the iPhone and iPad which have an ever growing user base. Those are huge drawbacks to using Flash. If you want your website to be accessed on mobile devices, don't use flash or at least have an alternative mobile version. If you are interested in Google search rankings don't put important elements in Flash like menus and content. Some companies have a flash and an HTML website for that reason but thats just unnecessary overkill. Most companies have a hard enough time managing one website so we don't recommend you kill yourself managing two. We recommend in most cases for our clients to have an HTML based website. If they want animations that are not possible with javascript, we recommend side elements built in flash, and usually to stick a content management system (CMS) on the backend so they can edit it. Flash is best used for specialty purposes like online games, or special interfaces or animations showcasing an event of some sort. We love flash but we love it being used properly.
